DREAMWEAVER
[Interior Application: Hotel Room Concept]
2025

Dreamweaver is a site-specific woven textile installation developed for De Groene Afslag Hotel in the Netherlands to create a unique themed room using only “waste” materials. The concept explores how discarded resources can be transformed into immersive, tactile environments through craftsmanship, material innovation, and storytelling.

Working with deadstock and second-quality Sunbrella fabrics sourced in collaboration with industry partners, the textiles were laser cut into strips and hand-woven into large-scale wall tapestries.

The woven system is deliberately adaptable, designed to shift in pattern and colour depending on the available surplus materials. In this way, each iteration of Dreamweaver becomes a new composition shaped directly by existing waste streams, positioning sustainability not as limitation, but as a creative framework.

The concept reflects an ongoing exploration of how heritage, material innovation, and pre-consumer waste can coexist within spatial design. Rather than erasing history, Dreamweaver embraces storytelling through surface, texture, and colour—inviting guests into a space where past craft traditions and future-focused sustainability intertwine.
